This AmeriCorps Week, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible young members in our YouthBuild Greater Stark County program who serve their community with heart, dedication, and purpose. Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing their stories on social media, showcasing the many reasons why our members choose to serve. But we couldn’t wait to share a few of their powerful responses with you!
A Few of the Reasons Our YouthBuild Members Serve:
“I serve because I want to help my community.”
Service is about showing up for the people around us. Many of our YouthBuild members are driven by a deep sense of responsibility to make their community a better, safer, and more supportive place for everyone.
“I enjoy helping my community and making things better for others.”
Service is not just about fulfilling a duty; it’s about creating positive change. Our YouthBuild members take pride in knowing that their efforts make life a little brighter for those in need.
“It’s nice to see people get things that will help them—food, diapers, supplies. It’s also good to give back.”
There’s something special about seeing the impact of your work firsthand. Many of our YouthBuild members find joy in the tangible ways they can support families, uplift individuals, and meet real needs in the community.
“I like helping my community and being there for people that need it.”
The best part of serving is building connections. Our YouthBuild members know that sometimes the most powerful gift you can give someone is simply being there—listening, supporting, and standing by them.
“I want to help those who need help and make our community a better and safer place.”
Creating a safe and welcoming community takes all of us. Our AmeriCorps members in YouthBuild work hard to ensure that every person feels valued, supported, and part of something bigger.
YouthBuild: Service, Leadership, and Growth
At Project REBUILD, our YouthBuild Greater Stark County program is all about empowering young members to take charge of their futures while giving back to the community. Our AmeriCorps members aren’t just participants—they are active contributors who set an example through their actions, demonstrating the impact of service and the power of community.
As we continue to share more of our YouthBuild members’ stories on social media this week, we invite you to follow along and celebrate the incredible contributions of these young people. They show us every day that helping others not only transforms communities but also changes lives—including their own.
