Celebrating Alex: One Year of Service and Impact at Project REBUILD
This year, we had the privilege of working with Alex as a Full-Time AmeriCorps Teacher Assistant, and now we celebrate the completion of his one-year term. Alex’s contributions have made a lasting impact on our program, our students, and our community. His reflections on his time with us truly capture the heart of Project REBUILD and the spirit of AmeriCorps service.
Alex’s Journey at Project REBUILD
“When I planned on writing this, I knew what I would say, as this has been a unique experience as part of the Project REBUILD family. Hills and valleys may have been upon me while working here, but it’s what makes this place so special,” Alex shared.
His words reflect the rewarding and challenging nature of serving with Project REBUILD, where every day brings opportunities to grow, connect, and make a difference.
“Often, when I have worked or volunteered at similar places, it feels like it’s paycheck first and students last. But here, we treat our students like family!”
This sentiment embodies what makes Project REBUILD unique: our deep commitment to supporting students as they learn, grow, and achieve their goals.
Proudest Moments and Contributions
Alex brought creativity and innovation to his role, and he’s proud of the positive changes he helped create.
“One of my most proud moments with Project REBUILD was when I used my networking skills and came up with some useful fundraising ideas. Where it all culminates is the Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank, as it is a blessing to see the results of what our program can do and what our students achieve,” Alex said.
His dedication to building connections and supporting community initiatives not only enhanced the program but also helped highlight the incredible potential of our students.
A Heart for Students
Alex’s reflections show just how much he valued his time with our students:
“Students of Project REBUILD will always hold a special place in my heart as they are the truest gift anyone who works here could ever ask for!”
This deep connection underscores the impact of relationships built during his time of service. For Alex, the students weren’t just participants—they were an inspiration and a reminder of why our work matters.
Thank You, Alex!
As Alex completes his AmeriCorps term, we want to thank him for his incredible service. His hard work, creativity, and compassion have left a lasting mark on Project REBUILD and the lives of the students he served.
Alex, we’re proud to have been part of your journey, and we know you’ll continue to do amazing things. Thank you for dedicating your time, talents, and heart to making a difference with us.
