Education in Our YouthBuild Program: Building Strong Foundations for the Future

Nov 25, 2024

At Project REBUILD, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. Our YouthBuild program places a strong emphasis on education, ensuring that each participant has the tools they need to succeed both in school and in life. Education is at the core of everything we do, and for us, it’s not just about earning a diploma—it’s about creating opportunities and building a brighter future.

In our YouthBuild program, 50% of participants’ time is dedicated to earning their high school diploma. Education happens every Monday through Friday morning, and we offer flexible learning environments to meet the needs of our students. Participants can choose between our Penn Foster High School program, which is on-site at our facility, or one of our partner schools: Stark High School and Summit Academy. Both of these partnerships offer high-quality educational options that allow our students to continue their studies while receiving the hands-on job training they need for their future careers.

This November, we proudly celebrated the most recent Penn Foster High School graduates in a special ceremony. This milestone is a reflection of their dedication and the support they’ve received from mentors, instructors, and peers. Their success is not only a personal achievement but a testament to the strength of our YouthBuild program, where education and real-world experience go hand in hand.

At Project REBUILD, we understand that math and literacy skills aren’t just for the classroom. Whether it’s calculating measurements in the construction lab, budgeting materials for a project, or practicing money math and literacy in our professional development lessons, these essential skills are woven into the fabric of everything we do. From building houses to building futures, these skills are crucial for success, and we integrate them into every aspect of our program.

The combination of academic learning and practical skill-building is what sets our program apart. By balancing education with real-world job training, we ensure our participants gain a well-rounded experience that prepares them for success after graduation.

We work closely with our educational partners to make sure each student’s path to graduation is supported every step of the way. Whether it’s through personalized tutoring, group study sessions, or mentoring, we’re committed to helping each participant overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

Our YouthBuild participants are not only working toward a high school diploma—they’re also developing the skills that will help them thrive in their careers. Together with our dedicated staff, mentors, and community partners, we are proud to support our youth in reaching their full potential.

At Project REBUILD, education isn’t just about the classroom; it’s about equipping our young people with the tools to succeed, both now and in the future. Through our YouthBuild program, we’re creating a pathway for youth to graduate, enter the workforce, and build a meaningful, successful life.
